Needle vs. scalpel: trial tests gentler way to remove risky breast lumps

NCT ID NCT03868475

Summary

This study aimed to compare a less invasive needle procedure (VAPE) to standard surgery for completely removing non-cancerous but high-risk breast growths. It planned to see if the needle method was as effective, safer, and led to better cosmetic results and patient satisfaction. The trial was designed for women over 18 with these specific growths, but it was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
