Summary
This study investigates whether offering regular breast ultrasound screening to women aged 65 to 80 can increase the rate of early-stage breast cancer detection compared to routine health check-ups. Over 82,000 women from communities in China will be assigned to either receive standardized breast ultrasound screening or continue with usual care. The researchers will track how many breast cancers are found at stage I or II within two years to see if screening makes a difference.
