Breast cancer breakthrough? study tests dropping surgery and radiation for best responders
NCT ID NCT06938724
Summary
This study is testing if women with certain aggressive breast cancers (HER2-positive or Triple-negative) who have an excellent response to initial drug therapy can safely skip standard follow-up treatments. One group will skip surgery, and another will skip radiation. The goal is to see if avoiding these treatments does not worsen survival or increase cancer recurrence over 5 years.
