Antibiotic added to chemo in fight against breast cancer recurrence

NCT ID NCT05114720

Summary

This study tested whether adding a common antibiotic called moxifloxacin to standard chemotherapy could help prevent breast cancer from coming back after surgery. Over 550 patients who had surgery for breast cancer were randomly assigned to receive either the antibiotic or a placebo along with their usual chemo drugs. The main goal was to see if the antibiotic group stayed cancer-free for longer.
