Virus therapy teams up with immune drug to attack breast cancer

NCT ID NCT03802604

Summary

This study tested whether injecting a modified virus directly into breast tumors, combined with an immunotherapy drug, could help eliminate remaining cancer cells after standard chemotherapy. The trial involved 28 women with early-stage breast cancer who still had detectable cancer after completing chemotherapy before surgery. Researchers wanted to see if this combination could shrink or eliminate the remaining cancer before patients underwent their planned surgery.
