New scan could tell doctors early if breast cancer chemo is working

NCT ID NCT05402930

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of mammogram called angiomammography can predict how well a breast tumor will respond to chemotherapy given before surgery. Researchers compared it to MRI scans in 67 women with breast cancer to see which method could better identify early on which patients were likely to have all their cancer cells eliminated by the chemo. The goal is to help doctors know sooner if a treatment is working, so they can switch to a different approach if needed.
