Personalizing breast cancer chemo: does genetic chaos predict success?

NCT ID NCT03096418

Summary

This study aims to understand why a standard chemotherapy drug (paclitaxel) works better for some breast cancer patients than others. It will enroll 50 women with breast cancer who are scheduled to receive this drug before surgery. Researchers will measure drug levels in the body and analyze tumor samples to see if cancers with high 'chromosomal instability' (a type of genetic chaos) respond better to the treatment.
