3D guide aims to improve breast cancer surgery precision

Summary
This study tested a new 3D plastic guide called the Breast Cancer Locator (BCL) against the standard wire method for breast cancer surgery. It involved 480 women with non-palpable breast cancer to see if the BCL was as safe and effective at helping surgeons remove all the cancer. The goal was to see if the new guide could reduce the need for repeat surgeries by helping get clear margins the first time.
