New device could help doctors better manage surgery pain

NCT ID NCT03832920

Summary

This study tested a special monitoring device that measures pain signals in patients under anesthesia during breast cancer surgery. Researchers wanted to see if this device could help determine when nerve blocks (pain-numbing injections) aren't working properly. The goal was to improve pain management during and after surgery, potentially reducing the need for strong pain medications during recovery.
