New device aims to help surgeons remove all cancer in one operation

NCT ID NCT07459062

Summary

This study is testing a new device called SPCTRone that helps surgeons check if they've removed all the cancer during breast-conserving surgery. The device uses light patterns and artificial intelligence to analyze tissue right in the operating room. Researchers will compare the device's readings to traditional lab tests to see if it can accurately identify whether any cancer cells remain at the edges of removed tissue.
