Heating up the fight: new device aims to zap leftover cancer cells

NCT ID NCT07206121

Summary

This study is testing a new device that uses heat to try to destroy any leftover cancer cells right after a tumor is removed during breast-conserving surgery. The device is placed in the space where the tumor was and uses radio waves to heat and treat the surrounding tissue. Researchers want to see if this approach is safe and how it affects healing for women with early-stage breast cancer.
