Faster radiation during surgery tested for breast cancer
NCT ID NCT03121469
Summary
This study tested a new device that delivers a concentrated dose of radiation directly to the tumor site during breast cancer surgery. It aimed to see if this faster, single-dose method was a practical alternative to the standard weeks-long course of whole-breast radiation. The trial involved 28 women aged 60 or older with small, early-stage breast cancer.
