Lab-Grown mini tumors could predict chemo success in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07260188

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study takes small tumor samples from 240 women with invasive breast cancer who are about to receive chemotherapy before surgery. Researchers will grow these samples into mini-tumors (organoids) in the lab to study each cancer's unique features. The goal is to see if these organoids can predict whether the cancer will completely disappear after chemotherapy, helping doctors personalize treatment in the future.
