New approach to breast cancer surgery aims to reduce recurrence

NCT ID NCT06092892

Summary

This study is testing whether a targeted surgical approach to remove cancerous lymph nodes in early-stage breast cancer patients can effectively control the disease and prevent it from returning. The trial will follow 45 women with hormone-positive breast cancer who have small amounts of cancer in their lymph nodes detected by ultrasound. Researchers will track how many patients experience cancer recurrence after receiving this targeted surgery followed by standard treatments like radiation or hormone therapy.
