New surgery for breast cancer nodes aims to reduce recurrence

NCT ID NCT06092892

First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a surgical technique called targeted axillary dissection (TAD) in women aged 45 and older with early-stage ER+ breast cancer that has spread to lymph nodes found on ultrasound. The goal is to see if removing these nodes upfront, along with standard breast surgery, lowers the chance of cancer coming back. About 45 participants will be followed over time to track recurrence and survival rates.
