First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring certain proteins in spinal fluid can help detect breast cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain (leptomeningeal metastases). Researchers collected spinal fluid from 51 breast cancer patients suspected of having this spread. The goal was to compare a new blood-based detection method with standard lab tests to see which is more accurate.
