Scientists test a 'Crystal Ball' for breast cancer treatment

Summary
This study aimed to find a better way to choose chemotherapy for patients with triple-negative breast cancer before surgery. Researchers tested if a specific biomarker (called HRD score) from a tumor sample could predict whether a patient would respond better to the drug cisplatin or to paclitaxel. About 150 patients were randomly assigned to receive one of these two drugs for 12 weeks before their surgery to see if the biomarker was useful.
