Direct brain injection trial offers hope for devastating cancer complication

NCT ID NCT07263425

Summary

This study is testing whether delivering two cancer drugs directly into the fluid around the brain and spine is safe and effective for treating a serious complication of advanced breast cancer. The treatment is for women whose HER2-positive breast cancer has spread to the lining of the brain and spinal cord. Doctors deliver the drugs through a small, implanted device called an Ommaya reservoir to target the cancer where standard treatments often fail.
