Searching for hidden clues in spinal fluid to detect deadly cancer spread

NCT ID NCT03252912

Summary

This study aimed to find better ways to detect when breast cancer spreads to the lining of the brain and spinal cord, a serious complication with poor survival. Researchers collected spinal fluid from 51 patients with suspected spread to test new biological markers. The goal was to improve diagnosis and understanding of this condition, not to test treatments.
