Trial halted early: Two-Pill attack on breast cancer brain tumors

NCT ID NCT04791384

Summary

This study tested whether taking two oral medications, abemaciclib and elacestrant, together could help control breast cancer that had spread to the brain. It was designed for post-menopausal women with a specific type of breast cancer (HR+/HER2-) whose cancer had progressed in the brain despite prior treatments. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 5 participants, so the full results are unknown.
