Can a simple biopsy predict if cancer treatment will work?

NCT ID NCT02422498

Summary

This study aims to see if a test on a tumor sample taken before treatment can predict how well patients with advanced triple negative breast cancer will respond to a combination of cisplatin chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It involves about 49 patients whose cancer has returned or spread, and who are already scheduled to receive radiation for symptom control. The goal is to find a biomarker that helps doctors choose the most effective treatments for future patients.
