New surgery could spare breast cancer patients from major lymph node removal

Summary
This study is testing whether a less invasive lymph node surgery is as effective as the standard, more extensive surgery for women with early-stage, hormone-positive breast cancer that has spread to 1-2 lymph nodes. The goal is to reduce side effects like arm swelling and stiffness while still controlling the cancer. Researchers will track whether cancer returns in the armpit area in women who receive the less invasive procedure.
