Nasal spray addiction? steroid protocol aims to break the cycle

NCT ID NCT07168148

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tested a method to help people who are dependent on daily nasal decongestant sprays. Participants slowly reduced their decongestant use while adding a steroid spray (triamcinolone) to control symptoms. The goal was to see if they could stop the decongestant completely and still breathe well. The study was terminated early and only enrolled 3 people, so results are very limited.
