NCT ID NCT07334470
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a special training program called BRAVE can reduce weight bias in nursing students. About 368 second- and fourth-year nursing students will either receive the BRAVE program or a standard lecture. Researchers will measure changes in attitudes, beliefs, and communication skills over one year using questionnaires and simulated patient encounters.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
BRAVE behavioral intervention (educational presentation, role-play, and simulation encounters)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward effective training methods to reduce weight bias in healthcare settings, improving patient-provider interactions.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage educational study with no clinical outcomes. Results may not generalize beyond this specific student population, and long-term impact on actual patient care is unknown.
