Brain wave breakthrough: new test measures speech understanding without kids saying a word

NCT ID NCT06402994

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested a new tool called CORGEE that uses brain wave recordings (EEG) to measure how well children with hearing loss can understand speech. Unlike standard hearing tests that require children to respond by raising a hand or repeating words, this method works even if they cannot communicate clearly. The goal is to improve early diagnosis and treatment for hearing-impaired children.
