First seen Mar 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study is for people with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) who have had high brain pressure for over a year and haven't gotten enough relief from the drug acetazolamide. The goal is to see if placing a small tube (stent) in a narrowed brain vein can lower the pressure and ease symptoms like vision loss, headache, and ringing in the ears. About 114 participants will be randomly assigned to either continue best medical care or receive the stent plus best care, and will be followed for 12 months.
