New brain scan aims to protect babies with heart conditions

Summary

This study aims to better understand how congenital heart disease affects brain blood flow in babies. Researchers will use a new, non-invasive ultrasound technique to monitor 300 infants under age 2 who are hospitalized for heart surgery. The goal is to gather information that could help explain why many children develop brain problems after heart surgery.
