Brain pulse scan may predict who benefits from hydrocephalus surgery

NCT ID NCT07285928

Summary

This study is testing whether a special brain ultrasound scan can help doctors decide which patients with suspected normal pressure hydrocephalus should receive shunt surgery. Researchers will measure brain pulsations in 110 patients before they undergo standard testing, then follow them for one year to see if the ultrasound measurements predict who improves after surgery. The goal is to see if this scan can become a useful tool to guide treatment decisions alongside current clinical methods.
