Sound waves target brain cancer in new trial

NCT ID NCT06665724

Summary

This early-stage study tested the safety of a new two-part therapy for aggressive brain tumors. Before standard surgery, patients received a drug that makes tumor cells sensitive to light, followed by focused ultrasound waves aimed at activating the drug to damage the cancer. The goal was to see if this approach is safe and might help shrink tumors before the main treatment begins.
