Nutrition blood test may forecast brain surgery outcomes
NCT ID NCT05373836
First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study explored whether a nutritional score called PNI (Prognostic Nutritional Index) can predict how well patients do after brain tumor surgery. Researchers looked back at records from over 3,200 adults who had brain tumor surgery at a major hospital in South Korea. They checked if a lower PNI (which reflects poorer nutrition) was linked to higher risks of death, kidney injury, or other complications after surgery.
