Scientists hunt for brain tumor clues in blood and spinal fluid

NCT ID NCT06610682

Summary

This study aims to find out if tiny pieces of tumor DNA (ctDNA) found in blood and spinal fluid can be used to monitor how a brain tumor responds to an experimental drug called plixorafenib. It will enroll 15 adults with a specific BRAF-V600E mutated brain tumor that has returned after prior treatment. The main goal is to see if these liquid biopsies are a feasible way to track the disease, while also gathering early data on the drug's effects.
