First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This observational study looks at how the brains of romantic partners communicate compared to strangers. Using a technique called hyperscanning, researchers will record brain activity from two people at the same time, both in person and remotely. The goal is to understand what factors, like attachment style or age, influence brain-to-brain connections. Forty healthy couples will participate in EEG scans and complete tasks involving pain and communication.
