First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether cooling the body based on brain temperature, rather than standard body temperature, is more effective for severe brain injury patients with fever. 41 adults were enrolled and divided into two groups: one where cooling was guided by brain temperature and one by bladder temperature. The goal was to see which method kept brain temperature in the target range more consistently.
