Scientists probe Brain's memory control center

NCT ID NCT06540976

Summary

This study aims to understand how a specific part of the brain, called the posterior cingulate cortex, helps us control and use our memories to make decisions. Researchers will record brain activity from 130 adults who are already having brain monitoring for epilepsy, while they perform memory-based tasks. The goal is to learn how this brain region works, which could explain memory problems seen in conditions like Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia.
