Scientists map the Brain's smell code

NCT ID NCT07386236

Summary

This study aims to understand how the human brain recognizes and identifies different smells. Researchers will record brain activity from patients who are already undergoing surgery for epilepsy while they smell various odors and describe what they perceive. The goal is to link specific patterns of brain activity to our perception of smell, filling a major gap in scientific knowledge.
