Scientists scan brains to unlock Anorexia's food aversion mystery

NCT ID NCT07344831

Summary

This study aims to understand why people with anorexia nervosa develop strong aversions to fatty foods. Researchers will use brain scans (fMRI) to compare how the brains of 90 women with anorexia react to smells and images of fatty foods versus how healthy women react. The goal is to learn how different senses work together to create food aversions, which could help develop better treatments in the future.
