Scientists scan brains to unlock why we binge drink
NCT ID NCT07220148
Summary
This study aims to understand how the brains, stress hormones, and immune systems of young adults who binge drink react to pictures of alcohol. Researchers will use MRI brain scans and blood tests during lab visits and track daily drinking habits via smartphone surveys over several years. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help develop future treatments for alcohol problems, but this study itself does not provide treatment.
