NCT ID NCT07003529
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study aims to understand why people with schizophrenia hear voices that aren't there (auditory hallucinations). Researchers think a small brain area called the inferior colliculi, which normally filters sounds, may not work properly. They will use MRI scans to compare brain activity in 40 people with schizophrenia who hear voices and 40 healthy volunteers. The goal is to find the root cause, not to test a treatment.
