Scientists probe brain to unlock secret of Parkinson's walking freeze
NCT ID NCT07092995
Summary
This study aims to understand why people with Parkinson's disease experience 'freezing of gait'—a sudden inability to start or continue walking. Researchers will record brain activity from special deep brain stimulation devices while participants walk in a virtual reality environment designed to trigger freezing episodes. The goal is to identify brain signals linked to freezing, which could lead to future treatments for this disabling symptom.
