Scientists search for Brain's 'Reward' clue in deadly eating disorder

NCT ID NCT04583774

Summary

This study aims to develop a simpler, more accessible brain scan method (EEG) to understand how the brain processes rewards and surprises in adolescents with anorexia nervosa. Researchers will test 47 female teens, comparing those with anorexia to healthy peers, to see if EEG can detect specific brain signals linked to the disorder. The goal is to create a practical tool for future large-scale research into the biology of anorexia, which could help predict treatment outcomes.
