Scientists scan brains of terror attack survivors for 6 years

NCT ID NCT02810197

Summary

This study followed survivors of the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks for 6 years to understand how trauma affects the brain. Researchers used brain scans and psychological tests to see how people control unwanted memories and emotions after severe trauma. The goal was to learn why some people develop PTSD while others recover, without testing any treatments.
