Brain implant trial offers hope for most severe OCD cases

NCT ID NCT06660225

Summary

This study is testing whether a surgically implanted brain stimulation device can help people with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) that hasn't responded to other treatments. Ten participants will have a device implanted that can both stimulate the brain and record its activity. Researchers will compare periods of active stimulation to placebo (sham) stimulation to see if it reduces OCD symptoms and improves quality of life.
