Can ultrasound and positive thinking ease pain and cravings?

Summary

This study aims to see if combining a brain stimulation technique (low-intensity focused ultrasound) with a mental exercise (thinking about positive future events) can help people who suffer from both chronic pain and alcohol use disorder. Ten participants will try different combinations of these interventions to measure changes in their pain levels, alcohol cravings, and decision-making. The goal is to find new ways to manage these difficult, often co-occurring conditions.
