Magnetic pulses to the brain: a new hope for taming emotional turmoil?

NCT ID NCT06259851

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of magnetic brain stimulation (rTMS) and a specific therapy (DBT) works better than either treatment alone for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). It involves 60 participants who will receive different combinations of real or fake brain stimulation and therapy. Researchers will measure changes in emotional control, impulsivity, depression, and self-harming behaviors over a year to see if the combined approach provides stronger or longer-lasting relief.
