Scientists test 'Closed-Loop' ultrasound to map and modulate the healthy brain
NCT ID NCT03192436
Summary
This study aims to develop and test a new, non-invasive method for stimulating the brain using focused ultrasound. Researchers will use brainwave recordings (EEG) to guide the ultrasound in real-time, creating a 'closed-loop' system. The goal is to better understand how this stimulation works and to find the best settings for future research and potential treatments for brain conditions. The study involves 80 healthy volunteers who will undergo brain scans and perform simple tasks while receiving the stimulation.
