Zapping the brain to calm a spasming voice
NCT ID NCT06830174
Summary
This small Yale study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive form of brain stimulation can improve voice quality for people with laryngeal dystonia, a condition that causes involuntary spasms in the voice box. Ten participants will have their brains scanned and then receive the stimulation over five days while watching videos or speaking. Researchers will measure changes in their voice quality to see if the treatment helps.
