Zap to walk: brain stimulation trial aims to boost stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT04687033
Summary
This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique, called dual-tDCS, could improve walking, balance, and leg strength when combined with standard physical therapy for stroke survivors. It involved 34 people who had a stroke between one month and five years prior. Researchers measured if ten treatment sessions led to better mobility and if the benefits lasted for up to three months.
