Zapping the brain to fight dementia: early study tests new approach

NCT ID NCT05440110

Summary

This small, completed pilot study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could improve thinking skills in people with a specific dementia type called SNAP. Researchers used a method called theta-burst stimulation (TBS) on 17 participants over four weeks to see if it could boost memory and cognition. They also used brain scans to try to understand how the treatment might work.
