Brain pacemaker trial offers hope for untreatable depression

Summary
This study is testing whether a surgically implanted brain stimulation device can help adults with severe depression that hasn't improved with multiple medications. Researchers will compare active stimulation to a sham (inactive) treatment in 100 participants over 12 months. The goal is to see if this 'brain pacemaker' can safely reduce depression symptoms and improve quality of life for people who have exhausted other options.
