Zapping the brain to read faces: new hope for schizophrenia social skills

NCT ID NCT07469384

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique can help people with schizophrenia better recognize emotions on people's faces. Researchers will use brain scans and other tests to see if stimulating a specific motion-processing area improves this social skill. The study involves 120 people with schizophrenia or a related condition, comparing real stimulation to a placebo.
